Day 1 - Option 1 Cairns Highlights
Discover the highlights of Cairns starting your morning at leisure as you make your own way to Cairns Wildlife Dome, a spectacular wildlife exhibit on top of the iconic Reef Hotel Casino. Journey on to visit the Royal Flying Doctors visitor Centre, afternoon tea, Flecker Botanical Gardens, scenic lookouts, Outback Opal Mines tour and stunning Palm Cove Beach.
Please note an additional charge of $10 AUD gross per adult applies to option 1.
Day 1 - Option 2 Water Cruise
Discover the secrets, sights and sounds of Rainforest life, right in the heart of Cairns ! Make your way to the Cairns Wildlife Dome a spectacular wildlife exhibit enclosed by a 20 metre high glass dome on top of the iconic Reef Hotel Casino. Then enjoy a calm water cruise while discovering the secrets of mangroves and the wildlife and the history and culture of the harbour and its trade. See crocodiles and a variety of native birds in their natural habitat, and then get really close to crocodiles during the Crocodile Farm Tour. Morning and afternoon cruise departures with transfers to accommodation.
Day 2 - Cape Tribulation
Travelling in small personalised groups to “where the rainforest meets the reef” you are guaranteed to see wildlife on this tour. Journey to Port Douglas via the Captain Cook Highway, one of Australia’s most scenic coastal drives. Visit Rainforest Habitat Wildlife Sanctuary, Mossman Gorge with a guided rainforest walk, enjoy a tropical buffet lunch with time to relax and have a swim at Cape Tribulation Beach and stop at Alexandra Lookout with magnificent views of the Daintree River and Coral Sea and spot crocodiles and other wildlife on a Daintree River Cruise including afternoon tea.
Day 3 - Kuranda
Travel to Kuranda aboard the Kuranda Scenic Railway, with free time to explore Kuranda Village. Visit the Australian Butterfly Sanctuary (optional extra, discount applies) before transferring to Rainforestation Nature Park. Experience the amphibious Army Duck Tour of the rainforest. Wander through the Tropical Fruit Orchard. Enjoy the powerful performance by the Pamagirri Aboriginal Dancers. Join the Dreamtime Walk and learn to throw a boomerang or play the didgeridoo. Get up close to native animals in the Koala Wildlife Park. Have your photo taken holding a koala (optional extra). Return to Cairns on the Skyrail Rainforest Cableway. Lunch is an optional extra.
Day 4 - Green Island, Great Barrier Reef
Cruise to Green Island aboard the modern Big Cat catamaran. View coral reef and tropical marine life on a semi-submarine tour. Snorkel from the beach or join an informative glass bottom boat tour. Enjoy a delicious buffet lunch on board the Big Cat. Spend free time exploring the island, swimming in the crystal clear waters, or relaxing on the white sandy beach.
Day 5 - Atherton Tablelands and Outback Experience
Witness the landscapes of Tropical North Queensland, crossing rich tropical rainforests and agricultural fields on the Atherton Tablelands into the Gulf Savannah Plains of the Outback. Lunch (Outback BBQ) included. Highlights including a cruise on Lake Barrine, Curtain Fig Tree, Millaa Millaa Falls, Windy Hill Woodleigh Cattle Station and a Plantation visit.
