Trip Styles
To make it easier for you choose the products that best suit your needs we have divided the products on this site into "Trip Styles". There is some overlap in what a product may be classified but essentially you can get the idea. The trip styles are discovery, safari, adventure, specialist and independent.
Trip Ratings
If the trip styles are not enough we have gone further to create our own unique 'trip ratings' key which helps you understand the nature of each product features on this website.
Comfort level covers 4 levels:
- Basic - which ranges from bush camping with few facilities to multi-share backpacker accommodation and share bathroom cabins;
- Standard - includes permanent camping with toilet/shower facilities, budget accommodation including backpacker resorts, basic lodges (2 - 3 star) and en-suite cabins;
- Moderate - is deluxe camping with proper beds, linen, lights, fan and toilet/shower facilities or moderate motel/lodge accommodation (3 - 3.5 star)
- Deluxe - covers 4 star lodges and motels included in the tours.
Age/fitness is categorised so that you can choose a trip that is most suitable for you based on travellers most likely to be similar to you. We believe that desire for experimental travel is about state of mind and fitness level rather than age. The levels we have categorised the trips by are:
- V = Vibrant - Recommended for the fit and active. Predominant age range is 18 - 35 years old.
- ES = Experience Seekers - Moderate fitness required. Designed for the "young at heart" travellers, who are not interested in regular sightseeing tours and want to experience the real Australia. Predominant age range is 35+ years.
- AR = All Rounders - Recommended for the reasonable fit and active. Although suitable for people of all ages, most travellers will be between 25 and 45 years old.
Due to the range of tours and modes of transport we offer, we have noted the maximum group size of each trip for your information.
Group sizes depicting 25* often combine different experiences and groups generally ranges from 25 to 48 people.
The family friendly logo indicates tours that although not purely designed for families, all families are welcome and a discounted child price is often available.
