Jungle Tours
Small groups travel with their informative guides on airconditioned Jungle Buses. The tours include a combination of The Rainforest Habitat Wildlife Sanctuary, cruising on the Daintree River searching for crocodiles and wildlife, swimming in the Mossman Gorge and exploring Cape Tribulation Beach where the oldest rainforest in the world meets the Great Barrier Reef.
Itinerary:
- Depart Cairns approx. 8am.
- Experience one of the most scenic coastal drives in Australia up the Captain Cook Highway north of Cairns.
- Pick up from Port Douglas accommodation during a brief tour of this famous holiday destination.
- Visit the Rainforest Habitat Wildlife Sanctuary and see the endangered cassowary and a myriad of other wildlife, including koalas and crocodiles. Get up close and learn more about unique rainforest wildlife on a guided walk. Free time included to wander amongst the birds and animals or to purchase ‘Breakfast with the Birds’.
- Enjoy a 1 1/2 hour guided rainforest walk at Mossman Gorge with the opportunity to swim in the crystal clear Mossman River.
- Lunch at Crossroads Café
- Look out for local wildlife including water birds and Estuarine Crocodiles on a 1 hour Daintree River Cruise with light refreshment.
- Plenty of Free time (1 hour) to enjoy the iconic Cape Tribulation Beach or join the guide for a walk through this unique beach side ecosystem.
- Return to Cairns approx 7.30pm or extend your adventure with an overnight package.
