Day 1 - Devonport or Launceston to Bicheno
Travelling northeast of Launceston, we stop at the rolling purple hills of the Bridestowe Estate Lavender Farm (seasonal). Continuing through heritage farms, rainforest and mining towns we spend the afternoon at the breathtaking Bay of Fires. Here you can take a stroll along the gleaming white sands or a swim in the clear turquoise water. Tonight stay at the seaside township of Bicheno. After dinner, choose to take a tour to see little penguins nesting (at own expense).(LD).
Day 2 - Bicheno to Pt Arthur
Drive into the stunning Freycinet National Park for sweeping views over Wineglass Bay. Choose to hike to Wineglass Beach via the lookout or for those more adventurous; a hike to the top of Mount Amos. Travelling south to Port Arthur we enjoy stunning views of the Tasman Peninsula. Tonight stay at Pt Arthur and maybe take a spine chilling Port Arthur Ghost Tour for a glimpse into the historic past of this penal colony (at own expense). (BLD).
Day 3 - Pt Arthur to Hobart
We’ll spend this morning exploring the infamous Port Arthur Historic Site and take a boat cruise around the harbour. Next, we visit Remarkable Cave and a range of other sites on the Tasman Peninsula as we travel on to Hobart. (BL).
