Get inmerse into World Heritage listed Kakadu National Park by cruising the Yellow Water Billabong and getting a privileged insight into Aboriginal culture in Arnhem Land.
Day 1 - Darwin to Kakadu
Travel via Adelaide River and the Marrakai Plains deep into World Heritage listed Kakadu National Park. Visit the Warradjan Aboriginal Cultural Centre and view the informative displays depicting local Aboriginal culture. Join the famous Yellow Waters Billabong Cruise to observe saltwater crocodiles and the region’s prolific bird life. After lunch (available for purchase) take a guided walk to view Aboriginal rock art at Nourlangie Rock.
Accommodation: Cooinda in private safari cabins or tents. Hotel option is at Gagadju Crocodile Holiday Inn.
Day 2 - Arnhem Land to Darwin
Go off the beaten track and enjoy a full day in Arnhem Land. Visit Injalak Arts and Crafts Centre to see Aboriginal painters at work and view outstanding rock art with a local Aboriginal guide. Explore the untouched haven of Minkinj Valley in the afternoon and enjoy its magical 360-degree views. (Note: this tour requires a good level of fitness and is not suited to frail guests.)
