Day 1 - Darwin to Kakadu
Turning off the Stuart Highway, we travel along the Arnhem Highway, passing the area’s major river systems and wetland regions to reach Kakadu National Park. Explore the World Heritage area of Nourlangie Rock, where we climb up through the ancient Aboriginal rock art galleries to the famous lookout over the surrounding wetlands. Join a local guide on the Yellow Waters Wetland Cruise to experience the beauty of Kakadu’s lily-covered wetlands, which teem with birdlife and crocodiles.
Accommodation: Gagadju Cooinda Lodge - Motel or Camping.
Day 2 - Jim Jim and Twin Falls 4WD Adventure
Today we visit the Jim Jim Falls Gorge area to bushwalk through monsoon forest. Then enjoy a 4WD drive to Twin Falls Gorge, where we cruise on calm water to the base of the waterfall. Later in the afternoon, return to Cooinda, prior to returning to Darwin via the famous Old Darwin road, where we cross many creeks and pass White Lilly Billabong, leaving a trail of dust on this traditional Territory dirt road - keep a look out for wildlife, prior arriving at approximately 8.15pm.
