Tour 1 - Kakadu Nat Park
Approximately 220km east of Darwin lies one of Australia’s bestknown treasures, Kakadu National Park. Leaving Darwin, we travel the Arnhem Highway across the Adelaide River and Marrakai Plains. A wide array of native wildlife has made this region their home. Stop at Nourlangie Rock where your driver/guide will lead a walk to view ancient Aboriginal rock art. After lunch (available for purchase), we join our local guide for a cruise on the famous Yellow Water Billabong. Search for saltwater crocodiles and the colourful range of birdlife this region is celebrated for. Visit the Warradjan Aboriginal Cultural Centre and view the informative displays depicting the traditions of the Aboriginal people in Kakadu, before returning to Darwin.
Tour 2 - Litchfield Nat Park
South of Darwin lies gorgeous Litchfield National Park, renowned for its monsoonal vineforests, spectacular scenery, magnificent swimming holes and year-round waterfalls. En route from Darwin we pause at Windows on the Wetlands, where you will learn about the ecosystems of the monsoonal north and see some breathtaking bird life. Then we travel on through Humpty Doo and the pretty little town of Batchelor to Litchfield.
After a break for lunch (available for purchase), we head into the park to view Litchfield’s intriguing magnetic termite mounds and giant cathedral mounds, some over five metres high. We stop at picturesque Florence Falls where there is an opportunity to swim in the plunge pool or walk through the vine forest. Next we experience the dramatic beauty of Tolmer Falls, before heading to the double waterfall of Wangi, where we have time to swim and relax. We return to Darwin in the early evening. Mindil Beach Market drop-offs are available on Thursdays and Sundays.
